Of all the important people in your life only your pastor has been called and gifted by God to minister to you. And to do it in such a way that it will impact you for eternity! No other individual on the earth has that much value - no one.
Your pastor is anointed to minister God's Word in such a way that it removes the burdens and destroys the yokes that so often entangle us. Just think about that!
And think about this: who else is going to give an account for your soul before the Lord Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father (see Heb. 13:17)? Not your mechanic, your grocer, the mailman, the school teacher, the dentist or the doctor. And not even your spouse, mom or dad, or even the boss. No one will stand before the Lord for you but your pastor. That's it!
This is why the scripture tells us in 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 that we are to esteem ur pastors very highly in love for their ministry work. The word: "esteem" means to set a high value upon. We are to esteem, honor and set a high value upon the vision God has giving to him, the anointing God has placed upon him, and the great and important role he plays in our lives. If you are a doer of the Word of God then you will set a high value on your pastor.
