In the Old Testament six cities of refuge were mentioned and established for the children of Israel, each a type of Jesus Christ. Any law the children of Israel were taught had two purposes: 1) national stability 2) to teach them about redemption. Today Jesus is our city of refuge and we have been given a choice whether or not to enter.
